The Storm Next Door takes place in rural Hayford, Minnesota, Sheriff Darrell Halvorson faces a divided town after a tornado leaves 14-year-old Luciana Rodriguez and her neighbor, paroled sex offender Ray Albee, missing. As fear and suspicion escalate, Halvorson leads the search while secrets and personal tensions threaten to tear the community—and his family—apart. Told through several characters’ perspectives, The Storm Next Door is a slow-burn crime thriller about justice, forgiveness, and vengeance.
